On the most special evening of the year, we gathered around the Easter Fire from which we lit the new Paschal Candle and proclaimed 'Christ our Light' as we went into Church. Readings and psalms followed recounting the salvation history of the Old Testament that pre-figured the 'Christ-event' that was being consummated in the Resurrection.
After the Gloria was sung and the Resurrection proclaimed we processed to the font where one of our young people was baptised and three others were admitted to communion. We all re-made our baptismal promises before the Mass continued with the Offertory Hymn @The day of Resurrection, earth tell it our abroad'.
After the Mass there was the customary Resurrection Party with Fireworks and cake for all those baptised and admitted to Communion on this most special of days.
