Monday 17th May

Despite the fact that yesterday we were told that we were almost certainly not going home on this day either, we now found that we were.
This was a great relief for most of us, understandably. Those who had work and other commitments had spent a lot of the previous day making contingency plans and trying not to go into meltdown. All now remaining was for it to actually happen.
We took off pretty much as scheduled and had a good flight with an almost imperceptible landing at Liverpool. There the two groups took their leave of one another and journeyed home uneventfully.
I cannot express in any way adequately what is to be gained from this or indeed any other pilgrimage, but I hope I have gone some way to sharing it with you, dear reader, - I can only say that everyone should go and I thank God that I was able to.
