Friday 16th June - Choros Amici
Formed in 1992, Choros Amici (the ‘Choir of Friends’) has always been a very special and individual choir. The singers, all friends of the musical director, Chris Mallinson, come from all over England and meet for occasional rehearsals to work hard, laugh and play hard. Since being crowned BBC TV Choir of the Year 2000, Amici has entertained audiences of seventy to seventy thousand, indoors and outdoors, from Hyde Park with Pavarotti to Symphony Hall, Finlandia Hall Helsinki – and many village halls – in cathedrals and city squares around Europe. Amici has made recordings for BBC radio and television, and many CDs showing what it does best – singing live to entertain and inspire others to enjoy and participate in the joys of choral music of all shapes and sizes. Amici is, above all, a ‘family’ with the shared goal of having a great time whilst performing to an exceptional standard.
